Some recent studies have highlighted the resegregation of schools in the U.S., which raises the issue of why school desegregation was seen as something worth fighting for sixty years ago, how the causes of school segregation today differ from those in the past, and what it will take to challenge contemporary segregation. This module will focus on those issues. The paper for this module, like all of the papers, is fairly short (1500 words). This paper will be rooted in an analysis of quantitative data and will include descriptive statistics and a measurement of segregation. The paper should explain the data, describe the spatial roots of the data, and explore how the specific situation could be changed.
