One of the first conversations that I want us to have in this class is this:
Should everyone do the assignment for the first module and then choose two others or should everyone pick any three of the assignments? If we all do the same assignment at the beginning we will have a shared experience, a common vocabulary, and then we will move forward from there. And everyone will have 25% of the total course grade in the can by the end of week 4.
But it means that there is less freedom for students to choose. How do you weigh those things?
What matters to you more? freedom of choice or establishing a common experience or vocabulary?
