Melina Patterson

I am an associate professor of geography at the University of Mary Washington. I teach urban geography classes, classes on race, and a field methods class that focuses on the geographies of children. This site features a number of examples of work that students have done for my classes, including story maps about early 20th century race riots in American Cities, the work of a couple different years of Geographies of Children research, and other assorted projects. In addition it has my own digital research project on the history of playgrounds and assorted course syllabi.
